A well-wisher's advice for not skipping dinners.
It is good to have well-wishers and heed to their advice.
When I wrote about intermittant fasting and restricting intake of food to 8 hours in a day and fast for 16 hours and showed how it benefits, a suggestion came that one should not skip dinners, possibly meaning that any meal should not be missed and missing a meal regularly can harm.
I appreciate the suggestion and the spirit behind the suggestion but do not agree to it. Actually human body is not meant for three full meals in a day. If one goes into history of humankind, in times gone by, food was not available regularly. People were living in jungles and there was no concept of agriculture and people depending on hunting and eating what plants gave. There was no regularity in food and there were long gaps when food was not available.
Human body adjusted to this irregularity in food and made it survive non availability of food for long durations. Till 1970s people ate three times a day and slowly this culture of frequent eating, many a times more than three times started and resulted in heavy incidence of life style diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure and imbalance in cholesterol, heart disease and the all pervading obesity.
The way out is intermittent fasting and restricting food taking to 8 to 10 hours in a day and allowing body some rest by not having food for 12 to 14 hours a day. I have benefited by it and I recommend it to everyone. Individual cases we can discuss for a possible way out.
